Joanna Tokarska studied Architecture (ASK program) at Warsaw University of Technology. She also gained educational experience at foreign universities such as Stanford University in the United States, University of Lisbon in Portugal and Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. She worked on the reconstruction of a Roman temple and a transitory in Mustis, Tunisia. She is also a member of a scientific group at Warsaw University of Technology, where she focuses on parametric design.
